General Manager (Applications have now closed)

Trans Creative is looking for an experienced General Manager to join the Trans Creative team on a fixed term freelance basis until June 2025. This is a mostly remote position, but there will be some in-person meetings and events, usually in Manchester.  You will be joining us to deliver our third year of a National Lottery Reaching Communities-funded project, which ends in June 2025. We are currently working on reapplying for further funding and we are hopeful that this role will continue past June 2025. This role will have a focus on fundraising, and so experience in this area is highly desirable.

This busy, varied and exciting role will commence in September 2024. We’re looking for a highly experienced and well organised person to work alongside the Artistic Director to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the organisation, including finance, fundraising, service delivery, administration and our bi-monthly Trans Social Club.

You will also have experience of managing and monitoring budgets as well as financial administration. You will have proven experience in fundraising. You will be self-motivated and able to work to deadlines whilst working remotely. You will ideally have previous experience in a similar role in production environments and working with artists.

Trans Creative is a relatively small organisation, and so whilst you will be responsible for many aspects of the organisation, they will not be overly onerous i.e. our Trans Social Club events take place once every two months and have simple production set ups. Invoice reconciliation per month is minimal. Fundraising is more time consuming and so we are looking for somebody with substantial experience around this.

You will have a can-do attitude and it is preferable that you’re Manchester-based although full travel expenses will be provided otherwise. This role will be 2.5 days per week. This will be reviewed, based on business needs, closer to the festival weeks.
